As Christmas 2021 approaches

I want to meet you on a joyful note

The Coming of Jesus – the Saviour – born in Bethlehem.

This truth is quite remarkable as was a Star in the East.

'The BETHLEHEM STAR’

When it first rose in the sky

It was noticed by wise men in Babylon or Persia.

GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 2.

They were considered ‘wise’ through being astronomers.

Who amongst us would deny the wisdom of

Interplanetary research?

Well, this Star in the East moved;

Three Astronomers followed its direction.

It lead them to King Herod’s palace in Israel.

No! He had not noticed the Star –

but

He hatched a wild plan to deal with a competitor!

Outside King Herod’s palace the three astronomers

Once again picked up on the brilliance of The Star

OVER THE STABLE IN BETHLEHEM.

There in a manger of straw was a new-born,

Lovingly watched over by the new mother –

The youthful Mary,

She was told about

in Isaiah’s prophecy three quarters of a century earlier.

ISAIAH 7:14

The excitement of the Star we see on our Christmas Trees today is in

keeping with the shepherds on the Judean hills. Dr. Luke when

writing his Gospel, lights up the skies above the shepherds with

adoring Angel Glory—good news of Great Joy over the coming of

Jesus the Saviour. LUKE 2:8

We can each rejoice,

And feel the excitement of the Saviour born in Bethlehem.
